The Need:

Law enforcement, security and insurance professionals constantly remind us that a closed door is more secure than an opened door and a locked door is more secure than an unlocked door.

Although the garage door opener (GDO) provides the security benefit of automatically closing a garage door, it does not lock it.

That's why automated garage doors are typically equipped with manually operated locks, such as slidebars, padlock hasps, etc. As many frustrated consumers can attest, using manually operated locks to secure automated garage doors results in a mismatch that:

Interferes with and diminishes garage door openers convenience (automated garage door must be manually unlocked before it is opened and manually locked after it is closed); and
Frequently results in costly damage to the garage door and/or garage door openers (when the garage door opener is activated while the door is still locked).

The Solution:

LOCMATIC works with a LOCMATIC-ready Marantec garage door openers to:

Automatically lock a sectional roll-up garage door every time it is closed.
Automatically unlock it when it is opened.
Compatible with Locmatic-compatible Marantec garage door openers ONLY.

Benefits and Features:

Replaces and renders obsolete manually operated locks (such as slidebars, padlock hasps, etc.) used to secure automated sectional roll-up garage doors.
Operates with the same controls that operate the LOCMATIC-ready Marantec residential garage door openers (remote controls, wall switch/console, wireless keypad, etc.).
Can be manually operated.
Failsafe design permits use in vault-in garages where the only entrance is the automated sectional roll-up garage door.
For user safety this unit is designed to automatically stay in the unlocked position during a power outage. (A Marantec "Energie-Pac" battery back-up is strongly recommended to keep the automated opener and lock operable during power outages).
Installer-friendly, easily connects to work automatically with a LOCMATIC-ready Marantec garage door openers (simply plug in a harness and connect 2 wires).
Mounts inside the garage on either side of a sectional roll-up garage door (2" of clearance between door track and first obstruction such as a wall/cabinet is required).
Provides consumers peace-of mind assurance that their home's largest and most commonly used access door is automatically locked every time it is closed.
